NJ, USA - This site is currently up for sale. This is not being done because there is anything wrong with the site, or bad reviews, or anything else. The site is working 100%, it is in good standing. It has plenty of useful content, it's stable, and has a lot of features.
What it doesn't have is a person who has enough time to keep posting content as often is they should.
I put a LOT of work into this thing, so I don't want it to go away. I would really rather sell it to someone who can simply take over the project and have fun with it.
A little backstory here...
I created this site because I had a lot of really good and fun ideas about fake news, and it also gave me an outlet to write some stories about current events but in a way that was lighthearted and couldn't be confused with actual news. I could write nonsense stories, as well as stories about things that actually happened, and offer my opinion. I knew this was never going to compete with the likes of The Onion, but let's be serious... Nothing does.
The software used to run this site is a completely custom CMS (Content Management System), written in PHP and MySQL. The CMS itself has been evolving over the past 7 years or so because I use it to maintain all the sites that I host. Having a CMS to manage some content on sites is WAY easier than having to modify the code every time a change needs to be made. So every new client that I bring on for hosting, has their site tied to my CMS.
The version of the CMS that runs this site includes a few extra modules that the others don't. Features include:
What am I selling?
This project is complete. It is working 100% as of right now. What I hope to be able to do is simply zip the whole thing up and pass it along. That means, all the files, and database tables, plus the domain. There is also a Twitter and a Facebook... I'll just transfer those too.
The version of this code, will be licensed for you to use and modify however you wish. But I still maintain ownership of the original code base. I have to. A whole bunch of other sites are using it. What you are getting here is THIS version of it. You can do with it what you will. And I offer no support for what you're buying. So it would be really helpful if you are comfortable with PHP. This also assumes that you will be hosting the site elsewhere, and taking it off our servers.
Alternately... You can keep the site hosted right where it is. I'll transfer the domain to you. We'll continue hosting the site, and you will simply come on board as a customer. Using this method means that I will still be available to help with support for the site.
