MILKY WAY GALAXY- Lightsabers! The single most important weapon in the entire Star Wars universe. Other than R2D2 and C3PO, it seems to be the most consistent thing in all of the movies. Well, for the most part. For 3 movies the only thing that was really different was the color of the blade. You had good guy colors, and bad guy colors. And that was about it.
Until this guy came along. Showing that it was possible to be 2x as bad!
That changed everything. Because that left the door open for designers to come up with all sorts of spiffy ideas for lightsabers. Although, other that Samuel MF'n Jackson's purple blade, we didn't see any new innovation until this guy came along.
And, really, is that even necessary? That is a take on the hilt of medieval weapons used on Earth. Did they even have a medieval time in Star Wars?
Star Wars Episode 9, The Rise of Skywalker is on its way.
And, this being the last Star Wars film that they will ever make (right?), they really have to get all their design ideas out right now.
Like Rey's new saber that starts off as a double blade, for some reason... Easier transporting perhaps? But then flips open to be more like Darth Maul's saber.
Why is it red? Well, the clear implication is that Rey has become bad. Although, even though everyone keeps saying that is who that is, to me it doesn't look like her at all.
Some more designs we can expect to see.
Or how about these? One thing about Star Wars... Being practical or scientific doesn't mean anything in this universe. So it matters not how practical, useful, or even possible these designs are. They will be used, and it will be awesome!!
